Interaction and codependency form a fragile and substantial part of juggling together. What makes working and juggling together possible? What is the nature of our collaboration? How can we deconstruct and give access to our own understanding of the craft of juggling? We invite you to take a closer look at the many factors and details that make our collaboration possible.
Syncopate is currently in the making and we wish to premiere the 45 minute piece that can be played as well inside as outside in the summer of 2023.

MOTUS
Motus is Latin for gesture – a movement that communicates an idea.
Instead of using words, Tobi and Finn talk with movements and juggling.
In their performance the audience witnesses a conversation between two friends who know each other well. However, they seem to disagree on what they should do next. While one of them is very energetic and impulsive, the other approaches things more slowly and reserved. This provokes tension between them as they try to agree on the same vocabulary. Through the exchange of clubs and movement propositions, they find a mutual language – a groove, realizing that neither one’s way is better. With a common ground, they establish that mastering a challenge together, can only be done by using each other’s strengths and giving space for individuality.

There is no life which,
even for a short instant,
is immortal.

TUNE
Two people – Two paths.
An encounter, creating a new space.
Within this space new principles are elaborated.
In order to tune into each other, they engage in a physical dialogue, using the language of movement and juggling to find common grounds.

SKIP
The seven minute act is telling a story of two friends engaging in a playful interchange of clubs and patterns. They both carry a spark of infantile naivety and innocence. While getting carried away by the music as well as spontaneous impulses, they SKIP from one game into the next one.
